Fr. Jacob Panamthottam was the first to be incharge of this independent mission station, which was formerly served from Jamwaon. Fr. N.J. Thomas constructed the church and promoted lot of pastoral care. Social work and animation activities brought the people together for developmental activities. Fr. Raymond Prakash built a grotto in order to increase the devotion to Mary - Our Mother, and promoted family prayer. As a result some people are drawn to the church and even religious vocations seem to be increasing. Sisters of Ursulines of Mary Immaculate opened their house in 1981. Now the sisters are involved in catechetical, medical and social works. Sisters run tailoring classes for young girls so that these girls may be able to do the household tailoring works by themselves. |
