About |
Varanasi is so closely related to Ramnagar palace. It has remained an historical epoch with beautiful exhibition of kingly armours and armaments. The king of Ramnagar is the donor of the vast property of BHU. Once the kingly status lost its importance all the kingly royalty is kept for exhibition in the palace. Ramanagar is just on the other side of river Ganges to the opposite side of Varanasi. In 1981, Fr. Wilfred Lewis was sent to Ramnagar to open a new mission station. It was an optimistic desire to have another Christian presence, if not a Christian community. Sisters of Franciscan Missionaries of Mary were already living there in a rented house. In 1982, they started their Novitiate and continue to help in educational ministry. St. Francis School at Ramnagar has grown into Inter College catering to the need of education to several children. The school holds great reputation in the city. |
