Fr. Wilfred was asked to start a station in Mohammadabad-Yusufpur area. In the beginning he camped at Hartmannpur and looked for the land. He managed to purchase a piece of land at the roadside not very far from Mohammadabad town, just 2.5 km away. Mohammadabad has a fairly good number of Muslim population. It is about 25 km away from the District headquarters of Ghazipur. This Parish was blessed and inaugurated on the November 04, 1998. There is a large number of catechumens who are regularly coming to the Church. Fr. Wilfred started some income generating programmes for the people in the area such as sweater and blanket making. He used to take the contracts of school uniform winter cloths and other works as to run the centre and get work for the people. Fatima hospital sisters from Mau also joined the new station for health ministry. Medical Sisters of St. Joseph (MSJ) were visiting the Bahadurganj mission with their mobile medical assistance. They opened a dispensary. In the initial stages they had weekly visits and later a permanent dispensary and convent was opened. |
