In 1986, Fr. Wilfred Lewis opened the Mission Station at Parjipah, 4 Kms. away from Kasimabad. Formerly it was part of Mariabad Parish. FSM Sisters joined the ministry in 1986. Fr. Wilfred started the station to look after the pastoral needs of catholics of Kattyan and other close by villages, which were taken care, by Mariabad station. It was too far for the people to take part in the liturgical activities at Mariabad. The mission started in a small way by purchasing the land and slowly building the priest house and prayer house in the same building. When FSM sisters joined the ministry in Parjipah they opened the dispensary and the priest house was given to the sisters. Fr. John Martis developed the school and also built the church. |
