||As the educational need was fast growing St. John's Schools of English medium were efficient to meet the needs. But soon another need for a Hindi medium school was felt in the boundaries of city and village at Lohata. Therefore St. John's Hindi School was started and FSM sisters joined the ministry. As the school was growing number employees and others Christian families who reside in the area also increased. Adding to this, St. Mary's Hospital staff members were also growing. Therefore along with education pastoral need of the families became an urgent need.
So, under the supervision of Fr. Oscar Topno a new church building was started in 2003. FSM sisters opened a formation house and SHM sisters built their Regionalate in Lohata. The presence of more communities justified the need of an independent church.
Fr. Joy Muriankary completed the church building at Lohata. The new church was blessed and dedicated in the year 2006. Fr. Joy was the first Parish priest and Fr. P. Victor became the second Parish Priest of St. Joseph's Church Lohata. Fr. Raymond Prakash was the third parish priest. On his transfer Father Jacob Mendonsa took up the responsibility of the Parish Priest.
