||This Parish was started in a rented house in the town by
Fr. Atul Muriankary, now situated on the outskirts of Ballia, five kilometers from the railway station. In his ministry of seven years as the first Parish Priest, Fr. Atul was able to do much to establish it on a sound footing. The land was gifted to the mission for its various services for the villagers.
There is a pokhra within the campus. Once in a year people come for Chhat pooja to the pokhra. The Chhat Pooja is a major event in the locality. People come for the pooja at the sunset and sunrise around the water tank. The parish tries to do all that is possible for people to have their ritual without any difficulties.
In 1971, Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod joined Fr. Atul to establish the school. Holy Cross sisters run the school and it has been raised up to Intermediate having the strength of more than two thousand students
With continuous pastoral care, the presence of small flock of Catholics is becoming significant. The pilgrimage on the occasion of the Nativity of Our Lady is an important annual event.
