Msgr. Jerome Malenfant, Ofm. Cap. Prefect Apostolic of Banares-Gorakhpur, 1947 to 1970. Died and buried in Varanasi on December 22, 1976.
Rt. Rev. Patrick Paul D'Souza
1970 to 2007
Rt. Rev. Patrick Paul D'Souza, the first Bishop of the Diocese of Varanasi from 1970 to 2007. Retired on April 30, 2007. Died on October 16, 2015 and His mortal body was laid to rest on October 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Cathedral Varanasi.
Rt. Rev. Raphy Manjaly
2007 to 2013
Rt. Rev. Raphy Manjaly, the second Bishop of the Diocese of Varanasi from 2007 to 2013, was transferred to Allahabad on December 3, 2013.
